ixgbe-x.x.x.tar.gz is designed to work with Intel® 82598-, 82599-, and X540-based PCI-Express* 10 Gigabit Ethernet adapters/connections under Linux*. The latest version and earlier versions of this driver are available from SourceForge.
If your Intel® 10 Gigabit adapter/connection is not 82599-, 82598-, or X540-based, you will likely need to use the ixgb-x.x.x.tar.gz Linux driver, which supports all Intel® 82597-based PCI-X 10 gigabit network adapters/connections.
This driver includes support for Intel® Itanium® 2-based and Intel® EM64T systems.
This release supports the latest 2.4 series kernel as well as 2.6.x and 3.x versions.
